Why facilities leave their cleaner

It's never about the dirt.
It's about everything the dirt caused.

Every facility manager we meet has the same five complaints. Here they are, and here is exactly what we do about each one.

What goes wrong
What we do instead
The inspector found it before you didA licensing visit, a health inspection, a board walkthrough. Once it is written down, it is your problem, not the cleaner's.
We clean to an inspection standard, nightlyHigh-touch points, restrooms and floors are done to the level someone checks, not the level someone glances at.
A different crew every weekNew faces who do not know the alarm code, the closet, or that the mats in Room 3 come up on Fridays.
The same small crew, every visitThey learn your building once, so you stop re-explaining it. In a building with children, familiar faces are a safety matter and not a convenience. Any change comes from us, in advance.
Nobody ever wrote down the scopeYou thought baseboards were included. They thought otherwise. Six months of small disappointments.
A written scope before day oneEvery room, task and frequency on paper. If it is on the list it gets done, and if it is not you will know.
The price kept movingQuoted one number, invoiced another. Supplies, extras, a surcharge nobody mentioned.
One fixed monthly priceAnything outside the scope is quoted and approved by you before it happens. No surprise lines.
Reporting a problem went nowhereAn email into a void, or a promise it would be handled next visit. Two weeks later, same issue.
Call Grace's team directly, it is fixed in 24 hoursNo ticket queue, no call centre. You reach the people who run your account, and we come back at no charge.

The program

Everything below is included.
One price, no menu.

We do not sell tiers or upsell you into a package. There is one program, built for facilities that get inspected.

The Clara Program

Inspection-Ready, Every Day

For childcare centers, schools, clinics and gyms across Union and Middlesex County.

A written scope of work

Room by room, task by task, frequency by frequency. Built from your building, not a template.

The same crew, every visit

Employed by Clara, not subcontracted. You get consistency and we get accountability.

Inspection-standard disinfection

High-touch points and restrooms held to the level that gets checked, not the level that gets noticed.

Scheduled around your calendar

Term dates, camp weeks, closures, patient hours. After-hours by default for childcare and medical.

Supervisor inspections on a schedule

Someone checks the work besides you. You see the schedule and you see the results.

Periodic work built into the price

Floor scrubs, carpet extraction, high dusting. Scheduled in, not quoted as a surprise extra.

Hiring even one part-time cleaner means payroll taxes, workers' compensation, equipment, supplies, training, and finding cover every time they call out. You get a whole crew, fully equipped and fully insured, for one predictable monthly figure. And we never call out.

Beyond the nightly clean

Once a year, we give the whole
building back to you new.

The recurring programme keeps a facility clean. The annual renewal is a different thing entirely, and the six-month reinforcement is what makes it last the full year.

Flagship project

The Annual Renewal

Scheduled into a closure week, so the building comes back looking like it did on opening day.

Floors, stripped and rebuilt

Furniture removed and replaced. Hard floors stripped and waxed back to a finish. Wood floors sanded and refinished. Carpets and area rugs washed, extracted and sanitised. Protective caps fitted to table and chair legs so it lasts.

Glass, inside and out

Every window cleaned on both faces, casings included. Glass doors, classroom partitions, interior windows and every mirror in the building.

Furniture and fixtures detailed

Cubbies, cabinets, shelving and appliances deep cleaned inside and out. Scuffs and marks removed from furniture and painted surfaces. Restrooms and locker rooms taken back to tile.

Paint where it is needed

Full repaints of rooms that have taken a beating, or patch and paint on the specific areas you point at. Quoted with the renewal so it is one project, not two vendors.

Special projects, any time

Standalone, whether or not we clean for you.

  • Strip and wax, floor refinishing
  • Wood floor sanding and refinishing
  • Carpet and rug washing and extraction
  • Window cleaning, interior and exterior
  • Upholstery and furniture detailing
  • Interior painting, full or patch
  • Light carpentry and repairs
  • Furniture assembly and installation

The Six-Month Reinforcement

A deep clean is a one-day achievement unless something protects it.

Six months after the renewal, we come back and reinforce the work before it degrades: floors burnished and re-coated rather than stripped again, carpets re-extracted, high-wear areas and scuff points brought back, glass and fixtures re-detailed.

It costs a fraction of the renewal and it is the reason the renewal still looks right in month eleven. Skip it and you are paying for a full strip and wax again next year because the finish wore through in month seven.

One vendor, one certificate, one call

Most cleaning companies stop at the mop. That leaves you chasing a floor company, a painter, a window crew and a handyman, each with their own insurance certificate to collect and their own schedule to coordinate around your children. We do all of it, so that is one relationship instead of five.

Who it's for

Two kinds of building.
Two different standards.

We work in facilities where clean is a requirement, not a preference. The job is not the same in both, and we do not pretend it is.

Childcare centers, preschools and schools

Where small children put their hands, and frequently their mouths, on every surface you own. And where a licensing visit can arrive with very little notice.

What you're actually worried aboutAn inspector opening a cabinet you have not looked inside since spring.

What we do differently here

  • Disinfection at child height, not adult eye level
  • Mats, cots, cubbies and tables on a written rotation
  • Products chosen for rooms where children sit on the floor
  • After-hours only, scheduled around camps and closures
  • Restrooms detailed, never just wiped

Medical and dental practices, clinics

Where a patient forms an opinion of your practice in the first ten seconds, usually in the waiting room, and rarely tells you what it was.

What you're actually worried aboutA patient noticing something before your staff does, and simply not coming back.

This is our largest group. We currently clean eight medical and dental offices in New Jersey, so exam-room protocol and patient-hour scheduling are routine rather than something we would be learning on your building.

What we do differently here

  • EPA-registered disinfectants used at correct dwell times
  • Waiting and exam rooms held to a patient-facing standard
  • Discretion around charts, screens and anything with a name on it
  • Glass, chrome and floors, the three things judged first
  • Scheduled outside patient hours, without exception

Gyms, fitness studios and community facilities

Where members are paying monthly and quietly deciding every single visit whether it is still worth it.

What you're actually worried aboutA member cancelling and writing one honest sentence about the locker room in the review.

What we do differently here

  • Equipment and mats wiped to member-visible standard
  • Locker rooms and showers treated as the priority, because they are
  • Mirrors and glass done every visit, no exceptions
  • Floor programs for high-traffic rubber and turf
  • Overnight or pre-open, so the floor is never closed

This is an estimate, not a quote. Real pricing depends on floor types, traffic, how detailed the scope needs to be and how much periodic work is built in. The walkthrough is free and the written number is fixed.

Risk reversal

You take no risk.
We take all of it.

Anyone can promise good work. Here is what happens, in writing, when we fall short.

The Inspection-Ready Guarantee

Four promises, all of them in your agreement, none of them with an asterisk.

1

Grace walks your building every week.

Every week, for as long as you are a client. Not just the first month, and not only when something goes wrong. Most of what would have turned into a complaint gets found and corrected before you ever see it — which is the whole reason the work does not drift in month six.

2

Wrong? We're back within 24 hours.

Tell us by the end of the next business day and we return and correct it at no charge. Not next visit. Not a credit. We come back.

3

Fail an inspection on something we clean, and we fix it free.

If a licensing or health inspector flags an item that falls inside our written scope, we correct it within 24 hours at no cost and credit you that month's service in full. We are asking you to trust us with the thing you get judged on, so we carry the cost when we get it wrong.

4

Your first month is a trial, not a commitment.

If we are not the right fit, tell us inside the first 30 days and you can end it there. No notice period, no penalty, no awkward exit conversation. You have already been let down by a cleaning company once, which is exactly why we will not ask you to gamble on a second one.

No long contracts. Month to month, with one month's notice to cancel. We would rather keep your business by doing the work well than by making it difficult to leave.

Who you're hiring

A family business,
and it shows in the work.

G

You're hiring Grace, not a franchise

The people who clean your building work for Clara directly. Grace knows their names, walks the first cleans herself, walks your building every week after that, and answers the phone when something is wrong.

That is the entire reason the same crew comes back. Rotating unfamiliar people through a building full of children is not just how details get missed, it is unsafe, and any director who has had to think about it already knows that.

Ten facilities across New Jersey, right now

Eight medical and dental offices, a dance studio, and a YMCA branch covering early childhood rooms, a fitness studio and common areas.

That mix is the whole point. Medical offices taught us patient-facing standards. The YMCA taught us to work around programs, camps and closures. Neither is a special request here.

Straight answers

The questions facilities
actually ask us.

Yes. Clara is fully insured, and we issue a certificate of insurance naming your organization before the first visit. Most childcare and medical facilities require one, and we expect the request rather than being surprised by it. Ask at the walkthrough and you will have it the same week.
The same small crew every visit, employed by Clara rather than subcontracted out — not a rotating pool of agency staff who have never seen your building before. You meet them at the walkthrough, Grace walks the first cleans herself, and she is back in your building every week after that for as long as you are a client.
It is a genuine range for a typical facility of that size and type, not a lowball designed to get us in the door. What moves the real number is floor type, traffic, how detailed the scope needs to be, and how much periodic work is built in. The walkthrough settles it, and the written price is fixed after that.
We can supply them or you can, and either way it is written on your quote before you sign rather than discovered on an invoice later. This is the single most common source of friction in a cleaning contract, so we settle it at the walkthrough and put the answer in writing.
Yes, and for childcare and medical we assume after-hours by default. We already clean a facility that runs programs, camps and closures on a calendar, so building a schedule around your term dates is normal work for us.
Take the walkthrough anyway and keep the written scope. Most contracts have a 30-day notice clause, and having a real scope and a real number in hand is what makes that conversation easy. There is no cost and no obligation either way.

Free walkthrough

Thirty minutes,
then you decide.

You keep the written scope whether you hire us or not. Plenty of facilities use it to check what their current cleaner is charging them, and that is fine with us.

  • We measure the space and count what is actually in it
  • You tell us what your last cleaner kept getting wrong
  • Written scope and fixed price within two business days
  • One visit. We do not do the three-meeting sales dance.
